Oxbridge Success for Students – 02/02/2017
Students studying in the Sixth Form College at Knutsford Academy are celebrating having been offered places at a number of the UK’s top universities including places at both Oxford and Cambridge. Students started the process of applying in the Autumn and in recent weeks they have received offers with a view to commencing their studies once they have completed their A Levels in the summer.
James Philpott has received an offer to read Natural Sciences at Fitzwilliam College, University of Cambridge, James was absolutely delighted to receive his offer he commented, “Having worked so hard on my application, it feels great to have received an offer. I hope I can get the grades I need this summer.” In addition to James, Kate Haselden has received an offer to read English Literature at Mansfield College, University of Oxford.
Head of The College Sixth Form Sarah Kirkham commented “I am immensely proud of them both. They spent a huge amount of time preparing for the application process which included interviews and admissions tests. Now all their hard work has paid off.”
In addition to both James’ and Kate’s success the Academy are further celebrating with all students who applied to university now being offered a place, with many at leading Russell Group Universities such as Imperial College London, UCL, Bristol, Edinburgh, Manchester and Nottingham.
Sarah went on to explain further, “For all of our applicants to receive university offers underlines the quality of our programme of support. The success of students obtaining offers is a reflection of their hard work, dedication and maturity as well as the expertise, effort and enthusiasm of the teaching and pastoral team”.
