Legs Waxed for Teenage Cancer Trust – 01/03/2017
Students from the Sixth Form recently had their legs waxed to raise funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
The waxing was organised as part of the annual Runway on the Runway Event which will be held at Manchester Airport on March 31st, this is a prom themed fashion show aimed at raising awareness of teenage cancer and fundraising for the charity.
Watched by over 100 students the 4 boys had their legs waxed by local beautician Hazel Moore who kindly gave up her time to help with the fundraising. Ben Moser pictured commented, “I was a bit concerned beforehand as to how much it was going to hurt and can confirm it really did, that said it was really worth it as the funds we are raising are going towards such a great cause.” The Academy is currently well on its way to reaching its overall target of raising £5000 for the charity.
At the event in March the boys will be joined by 8 other Academy Sixth Formers and are now looking forward to striding down the catwalk together with students from other local schools, in addition they will also joined by two Academy teachers who will be modelling the current Knutsford Academy school uniform.
Nikki Cartwright who is part of the events team commented, “We were very proud of the boys and it proved great entertainment for everyone watching, and fantastic way to raise money, we are now looking forward to the big event on March 31st and seeing them all on the catwalk.”
