Head Girl and Boy Announced – 18/07/2017
We are delighted to announced that Sixth Formers Becky Lynes and George Keeble have been elected as Head Girl and Head Boy.
Here they share their plans and thoughts for the next academic year.
“First of all, we’d like to thank everyone who voted for us and formally introduce ourselves. We hope you can help us to fulfil our roles and aspirations to the best of all of our abilities.
In the coming year, we are hoping to lead a student committee (KASP) to help improve our school (if that’s possible). In both our hustings we highlighted that while we would like to continue all the hard work seen before us including the student magazine and charity links, we have identified some areas within the school which we would like to adjust; firstly, we are hoping to develop the Student Support System. Within this, we would like to strengthen the Anti-Bullying campaign and develop the already-established peer mentoring scheme but would also like to introduce a Mental Health Awareness Scheme. If you listen to the news or rumours on the corridor you will be aware that we need to do everything we can to increase our financial standpoint, we aspire to ease this strain by carrying out various fundraising events (starting with our end of year BBQ), both for charity but also the school itself.
Our work will not be possible without the help of you, the students, therefore we are going to make it our primary aim to improve the school as a community itself. We have a strong open door policy and want you to approach us with ideas too!”
