Ongoing GCSE success for Academy students 22/08/2019
Following on from the superb A Level results achieved by students at the Academy last week, we are now celebrating our excellent GCSE results.
27% of grades achieved were 7-9, the equivalent of the “old” A/A* compared with 20.8% nationally. Of these, 5.5% were at grade 9 compared with 4.5% nationally. 94% of students achieved a grade 4 or higher in English compared with 62% nationally. In Mathematics, 94% of grades were 4 or higher compared with 59.6% nationally.
Headteacher James Whittaker congratulated the students on their hard work and well-deserved success: “These results represent a tremendous achievement for the students who have worked incredibly hard to achieve this level of success. I would also like to commend the efforts of the staff, who have provided the individual care and attention that has enabled so many of our students to meet and, in many cases, exceed their personal targets. I look forward to welcoming students to the Sixth Form at Knutsford in order to build on this excellent foundation”.
There are so many high achieving students this year but special mention goes to Amelia Byrne who achieved 7 grade 9s and two 8s, Ella Senior who scored A** in Further Mathematics along with 6 grade 9s and two grade 8s, Emma Bland with six grade 9s, three grade 8s and an A* in Further Mathematics.
