Sad news to share – 02/03/20
It is with deep regret that I am writing to inform you that a member of the Academy Staff, Sarah Ramsey, passed away this weekend following a short illness. Sarah was the Academy Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO), and had worked at the school for 20 years, initially as a teaching assistant before qualifying to become a teacher and SENCO. Both of her children also attended the Academy.
This very sad news has come as a huge shock to everyone at the Academy; Sarah was a much loved and respected member of the team, known for her kindness, compassion and sensitivity in listening to any concerns and worries our students had. Many of our students have spoken of Mrs Ramsey’s warmth, cheerfulness and her commitment to ensure their success and happiness in school.
The school will do everything we can to support Sarah’s family and our hearts and thoughts are with them at such a sad time. We are also offering help and support to both our staff who Sarah worked closely with and the students that Sarah worked with on a daily basis.
A book of condolence has been placed in the main reception to enable staff, students and parents to share their memories of Sarah.
Sarah will be greatly missed by all of us.
