A Level & BTEC Results 2020
Please note the information below was based on the results provided on results day. We will update once we have further guidance following the announcement from the Government that ‘Centrally Assessed Grades’ will now be awarded to all students.
James Whittaker, Headteacher for Knutsford Academy, comments on today’s A Level results:
“We are really pleased with the A Level results and feel proud that so many have achieved such high grades. This is all in the midst of such challenging circumstances and on the back of all the media speculation that has been a feature of the last few months”.
Some of the key headlines are;
- The average grade at A Level is grade B alongside our highest ever average points score
- A 100% pass rate in over 30 subjects for the sixth year running
- Virtually all students have had their places confirmed at university, with Hannah Spurry securing her offer to study at The University of Cambridge and Hope Philpott progressing to The University of Oxford
“We are now working hard to support any students whose grades were below what we had expected and will use the appeals process to do this”.
“I would like to wish all our Year 13 students the very best for their future be that in work or university; they have been a credit to the Academy”.
Cheshire Studio School
Please find attached a further comment for Peter Kingdom, headteacher for Cheshire Studio School which is attached to Knutsford Academy.
“As with the Academy we are really pleased with the results for Cheshire Studio School. The school specialises in an academic and employability provision, offering a range of traditional ‘A’ levels and nationally recognised vocational and technical qualifications. Students have achieved above our expectations with an average grade of B- in ‘A’ level subjects and a record number of distinction grades in vocational qualifications such as BTECs.
Students will be going on to a range of destinations including universities and higher apprenticeships and specialising in areas such as business management & law, chiropractic studies, journalism, sport & exercise science and product & furniture design”.
