Catriona has served as a school Governor and Board Member for over 20years. She has four children who have all attended the School and progressed to study graduate courses at university. Catriona feels that the School prepared them very well for their experiences in Higher Education.
Catriona was fortunate to have been brought up in a family in which education was valued and was supported and encouraged throughout her time at school and university. Catriona graduated from Newcastle University with a BSc in Plant Biology and a PhD in Marine Biology. She has since worked on research projects at the Animal Health Trust and at Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
Catriona began her work supporting students whilst at University, as pastoral support as well as teaching undergraduates in the Plant Biology and Medical schools. She is passionate about improving outcomes for students.
As Safeguarding governor, Catriona is fully trained and experienced and also plays a key role on the pupil discipline committee.
Catriona enjoys working the students in her role with the Academy Parliament. She hopes that her work as a school governor in Knutsford helps the students with whom she is involved to realise their potential, maximise the opportunities which their education offers them and enjoy their “school experience”.
Following the merger of KMAT and CMAT to The Learning Alliance this page will shortly be updated with details of the members of the Local Governing Boards for Knutsford Academy and Cheshire Studio School.
