Studio@Knutsford is the Studio School based at Knutsford Academy which opened in September 2014 in a state of the art new building.
The Studio takes a different approach to The College with a combined focus on both academic achievement but also on employability and preparing students for the working world. This dual focus is reflected in the curriculum and options available at both Key Stage 4 and 5.
To help students prepare for the working world we work with an extensive range of businesses both local and global who help to bring the working world to life. This can be through interactive and business focussed workshops or specific projects. In addition all students participate in work experience of a frequent basis.
Choice of Options
At Key Stage 4 students will still retain an academic focus and study a core 5 GCSE options including Maths, English Language and Literature and a Science. We then a range of options which are predominantly BTEC Level 2 qualifications, including Construction and Hospitality.
For Key Stage 5 (and the Sixth Form) we offer an extensive range of options, the core Studio School options are in Design, Broadcast Media and Business BTEC. These options can then be combined with additional A Level courses run in The College Sixth Form.
In Key Stage 5 we also offer the Football Academy which we run in partnership with Egerton Football Club. Most students opt to study a double BTEC in Sport which is equivalent to two A Levels and combine this with an extensive football coaching programme including FA qualifications.
If you would like to discuss any of the options available in the Studio school please do get in contact with us.
