At Knutsford Academy we provide students with a broad and coherent Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) programme that supports students to grow into reflective, responsible and compassionate young people. Through carefully planned curriculum links, assemblies, tutor time activities, enrichment opportunities and wider school life, students are encouraged to explore beliefs and values, develop a strong moral compass, build positive relationships and appreciate diversity in modern Britain and beyond. Our provision is underpinned by our core values of respect, ambition and kindness, and actively promotes the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs, preparing pupils to thrive in a diverse, democratic society.

SMSC (Spiritual, Moral, Social, Cultural) learning is embedded across the entire school curriculum but has a particular focus through form time and assemblies.

SMSC assemblies allow the school community to come together to reflect on key issues relating to personal development.  These assemblies are utilised as a point at which to draw together themes and issues that are either relevant to the time of year or have arisen through staff or student discussions.

Below are examples of powerpoints from assemblies delivered to students across the whole school age range.
